The Why
In an America hell-bent on assigning "beauty", defining "normal" and skewing power in the name of “tradition”, Mad Different celebrates the many intersecting identities that make up every one individual: fighting for justice while finding joy in what makes us the most unique. |
The What
Mad Different is a high-production video performance series of four acoustic concerts and accompanying interviews amplifying collective self-acceptance, featuring award-winning artist/activist Lachi in collaboration with notable co-artists, creators and thought leaders intersecting with varying Counter-Cultures. |
The Performance Series
WITH SUPPORT FROM
|
The Performances: Shot in the Amazon’s Music Studios in Brooklyn, the video performance series consists of four Tiny-Desk-style acoustic concerts of original songs celebrating the power and voice in embracing Difference by Lachi, co-artists and a live band of award-winning female musicians.
The Releases: Alongside the release of each performance video will be an accompanying audio release through TikTok label SoundOn, whose releases consistently receive millions of streams and viral shares due to the strength of the platform’s playlist reach. The Interview: Leading up to and in between each video performance release will be interviews discussing the song topics to be released on social media to propel fan engagement. From Thought Leaders to Influencers to Co-Artists, we discuss topics on radical self-acceptance, difference, navigating America as a disabled woman, as a black discendant of immigrants, as a proud trans person in today’s climate. |
